Sådan opbygger du et ungdomsparti

This inspirational guide, covering 30 topics to debate and consider when building political youth wings, is a joint greeting from Danish youth politicians and activists to all young people working with politics in countries in transition.

Guide

How to Build a Youth Wing is an inspirational guide where young people in Denmark and Egypt share their reflections on:

  • Building a solid house - getting the set-up right: How to facilitate an open political debate and democratic decisions by setting up clear structures and regulations.
  • Development of political positions: How a youth wing can develop policies and political positions. This is not taught in any school but is done in interaction between ideology, political platform and the actual course of events.
  • Members – the pillar of every youth wing: Members are crucial any political party. The stronger the members, the stronger the youth wing is in agenda setting and achieving the desired political change.
  • The relationship to the mother party: Every youth wing has its own unique relationship with its mother party. Whatever the relationship, the youth wing and the mother party share the same values, the same political ideology, and the same vision for society. The youth wing must be able to navigate in this.
  • Campaigns and collaboration: Awareness-raising and political campaigning is deeply rooted within the DNA of youth members. but, are campaigns an end in their own right? Or do they serve as one of many communication tools to set an agenda and reach political objectives.
