The Social Democratic Party
The Danish Social Democratic Party is one of the eldest in the country. Today it is is the governing party under Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen
The Social Democratic Party (Socialdemokratiet) is historically rooted among urban industrial workers. Traditionally, the party had strong bonds to the labor unions, but in recent decades, this relationship has become less institutionalized than it used to be. Today, the Social Democratic Party emphasizes the continued importance of maintaining the core elements of the welfare state the party helped build, and the important role of the state in achieving growth.
Following the election in 2015, the Danish Social Democratic Party is the largest party in Parliament and the leader of a centre coalition government under prime minister Mette Frederiksen.
