With a strong focus on welfare for Danish citizens, immigration, national culture and opposition to the EU,  the Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkeparti) is on the  right wing. They are currently in opposition to the Social Democratic government.

Between 2001 and 2011 the party enjoyed great influence because of its support to the minority coalition government of the Danish Liberal Party (Venstre) and Conservative People’s Party  (De Konservative). 

Following the 2022 election, the party is in opposition to the center coalition government
