The Alternative (Alternativet) is one of the youngest party in the Danish Parliament. Taking a different approach to politics the party is based on values (courage, generosity, transparency, humility, humor and empathy) rather than a specific ideology, which guides the daily political work of the party.
The party has a focus on sustainability – at the environmental, economic, social and cultural level – and wishes to develop a new political culture, which takes a stance against neo-liberal economic thinking and political makeshift solutions.
Followin the election of 2022, The Alternative is in opposition to the center coalition government.
