Strengthening four East African parties through regional and international networking and inclusive green policy-development and implementation

Partners
The Alternative, Eastern African Green Federation (EAGF), Ecological Party of Uganda (EPU), Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (DGPR), Burundi Green Movement (BGM), Green Congress of Kenya (GCK)

As the African continent is being affected more and more by climate change the topic is moving up on the political agenda. The Alternative partners with movements and organisations in East Africa that work together on the green agenda.

Africa is expected to be the region most impacted by climate change, despite accounting for less than 4% of the world’s annual greenhouse gas emissions. Despite the demand for environmental action the green agenda is underprioritized in the political system. However, as the climate change movement has spread across the globe, green parties have also appeared in Africa, demanding sustainable solutions.
