New Executive Director

After 9 years at the institute, Mathias Parsbaek Skibdal takes over as DIPD’s new Executive Director. He thereby brings plenty of experience with him into the executive office:

“Throughout my 9 years at the institute, I have seen the global democracy’s decline through encounters with all those, who everyday fight for the preservation and development of democracy. Young visionaries fighting to become the democratic leaders of tomorrow. Women who break glass ceilings and change the face of politics. And experienced leaders, who have been fighting for democratic rights for their entire lives.

The fight for democracy requires unity across borders, generations, and party lines. Together with the Danish parties DIPD stands on 150 years of democratic experience and an obligation to support those fighting for the same rights. No development without democracy.”

Mathias Parsbaek Skibdal is a former Senior Advisor at DIPD and has twice filled in as Acting Director at the institute. Previously, he has worked with project management and organizational development at INGO CARE and The Danish Alzheimer’s Association.

Chairman of the DIPD Board, Kasper Sand Kjaer explains:

“The Board and I are thrilled that Mathias has accepted our offer to lead the continued development of DIPD and our international work. He has an unrivalled knowledge of the institute, the Danish parties, and our partners, as well as the experience to develop the organization. There is an enormous need the democratic support DIPD offers together with the Danish parties. We look forward to developing the work together with Mathias.”
