Communication

- The space for democratic development is under pressure. A worrying trend sees minorities and political opponents in many countries persecuted and oppressed, states Director Lisbeth Pilegaard.

DIPD works alongside Danish political parties in more than 16 countries to support and develop democracy and political dialogue.

- Political parties from Denmark work actively with DIPD to strengthen the democratic space, especially by working for growing inclusion of women and youth in representative democracies, the director says.

- The Covid-19 crisis is challenging our efforts even more and makes strategic and innovative communication absolutely essential. That’s why communication is a priority in our institute, and we will be focused on boosting communications when developing our new strategy, Lisbeth Pilegaard stresses, and continues:

- We wanted an accomplished head of communications, who has created tangible results by developing and implementing communication strategies. We are happy to welcome Anna Pia Hudtloff, who has headed the communications efforts at the Danish Institute for International Studies, the National Museum of Arts and the Danish Cancer Society.

Anna Pia Hudtloff has worked with strategic communications in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and Africa, and comes to DIPD with great enthusiasm:

- As a complete communications nerd with an interest in politics and how our world changes, I can’t think of a more meaningful use of my skills. I am looking very much forward to working with DIPD’s many partners in Denmark and internationally. It will be inspiring and enlightening to create strategic communications together, says the new Head of Communications.

- It’s important for me to attain broader outreach for the stories of the results achieved by the direct dialogue between Danish parties and their partners. I regard political dialogue and development as prerequisite for inclusion and stability. These are important and dynamic processes that I look forward to communicating as widely as possible, says Anna Pia Hudtloff.
