Strengthen the position of the Social Movement as a political actor in Ukraine
The Danish Red-Green Alliance has partnered with the Ukrainian organisation, Social Movement, to strengthen the organisation's position as a political actor through capacity building.
The partnership between the Danish Red-Green Alliance and the Ukrainian organisation, Social Movement (SM), aims to strengthen the position of the Social Movement as a political actor in Ukraine. This includes capacity building of the SM as a political organisation with an emphasis on overall strategy as well as consolidation, expansion, and integration of new party members

SM is a Ukrainian organisation founded in 2015 by left-wing activists who took part in the Euromaidan protests in 2013 and 2014. SM aims to establish and register as a new anti-capitalist, democratic socialist party deeply rooted in civil society. SM is working closely with and within feminist groups and trade unions. While the war is dragging out, SM has been concentrating on creating a progressive vision of post-war Ukraine and reconstruction policies.
Strengthening the SM as a political actor in practice entails developing skills in communication and social media, as well as accounting and organisational development. The Red-Green Alliance has solid experience in organisation building and developing a member base from relatively marginal left-wing organisations to a country-wide party represented in parliament and municipal boards, with extensive contacts and collaboration with various social movements such as unions, feminist groups, campaign organisations, etc.
The partnership will strengthen the SM's capacity to attract members and integrate them into the party organisation while also expanding its relations with and integration into larger social movements, particularly trade unions and women's rights organisations.
