Application Guidelines

Danish Political Parties in Parliament and Danish organisations, which meet the requirements specified, can apply for DIPD funds. DIPD may also initiate activities. If you wish to apply for funds, guidelines and application forms are found here.

DIPD’s activity funds are divided into two equal pools:

The political party cooperation:

One of the pools is reserved for the political parties in the Folketing (Danish Parliament) and is to be used for partnerships with ‘sister parties’ (political parties or party-like organisations when it proves to be difficult to identify true sister parties). From this pool, parties are given a fixed basic amount plus an amount calculated according to the number of seats in parliament the party has. The money is released once the Board has approved a concrete project proposal.

The Cross-Political Pool:

The cross-political pool is reserved for cross-political activities which can contribute to the development of pluralistic party systems and can target a group of political parties; parliaments and the political parties represented in them; NGOs that work to further pluralistic multiparty systems through cooperation with parties, parliaments, etc.; think-tanks which work with party systems; media outlets and their relationships to political parties as well as other groups and organisations.

DIPD itself can initiate activities within the sphere of the cross-political pool, just as Danish organisations can submit applications for support. The organisation must be based in Denmark and must be a ‘non-profit’ organisation working within one of the institute’s focus areas, such as the media, young people in politics, women in politics or other fields that support the development of multiparty systems in politically democratic cultures in developing countries. The organisation must have by-laws and be subject to audit. Private persons cannot apply for funds.

Please read the guidelines before submitting an application.

Next deadline for submitting an application is 30 April 2013
